STREET LEVEL OUTREACH AND EMERGENCY NEEDS FUNDS
We’re on call 24/7 to provide emergency assistance and aid to Moab’s most in need
It takes a community working together to ease the suffering within it. Our emergency aid meets people where they’re at. More importantly, the warmth of a community caring for its own creates a sense of hope when folks need it most.
Street level case management can put in motion profound positive outcomes. That’s why we focus so much on the individual.
In one case, we worked with the local newspaper to interview a man we were helping. He shared his story to spread awareness in the community. With his name now in the paper, his brother was able to search him online.
After 10 years, his family finally knew he was alive, and they were able to reunite.

Moab Solutions’ Homeless Assistance Services
We are part of a tight network of nonprofits and community agencies. Working together with the Moab City Police, Sheriff’s Office and courts, we address community wide issues one case at a time.
Cleanups improve living conditions and foster relationships that lead to better social care
Camp & Roadway Cleanups
We teach the homeless how to sort and maintain recycling, which provides pride and job skills
Wages & Training
We provide relief to the homeless and others with urgent needs through on-the-spot aid
Direct Emergency Aid
It costs the community a lot to deal with the same people and issues again and again. By improving things for the homeless at their cause, we save community resources while creating a more peaceful and humane Moab.
Help with gas, bus tickets, or emergency lodging.
Rent assistance, utilities, food, medicine, and any verified urgent need
Helping people apply for benefits or navigate legal issues
Giving referrals to other agencies for long term help
Getting people into treatment for substance use disorders or medical issues
Provides more hours for street level case management
Reuniting people with family

RESTORATION
TRAIL WORK AND DESERT RESTORATION PROJECTS
We help maintain Moab’s once unknown but now overwhelmed trails
We’ve been doing trail work and restoration in Mill Creek Canyon and other nearby public lands since 2003, predating the founding of Moab Solutions by a half a year. Due to social media and geotagging, things look a lot different here than they used to.
We conduct ecological restoration in canyons, streams and other habitats in the Moab, Utah area
Tourism on Moab lands has exploded - and so has our need to contain the damage
Moab’s secret beauty is no longer a secret. The popularity of Moab and nearby Arches and Canyonland National Park has essentially tripled since 2003 when we started. In 2021, almost a million people toured through the area.
Moab Solutions works with BLM and the Sheriff's office to manage the impacts of all this new activity.
FREE FOR ALL, NOT FREE-FOR-ALL
Now, we organize cleanups, maintain trails and encourage people to enjoy the canyon while respecting Leave No Trace practices.
Combined, our projects protect the delicate desert environment from humans and vehicles alike, while solving conflicts among canyon users and their competing interests.
Our efforts followed those of another group working to get vehicles out of the canyon in the late 90s. The combined effort has been essential to protecting delicate cryptobiotic soils and returning the canyon to its natural healthy state.

ADVOCACY
ZERO WASTE ADVOCACY AND RECYCLING PROGRAMS
Helping people heal the planet - RESPECT, RETHINK - reduce, reuse, recycle - RESTORE
Restoring our communities happens in that order. Reducing and reusing is a great first step, but respecting our resources and rethinking our habits is the leap into the zero waste future we desperately need.
SIP ON THIS: Americans toss about 560,000,000,000 beverage containers in the trash per year - that’s equal to the energy consumption of 41 million barrels of crude oil
For every ton of aluminum, we produce about 5 tons of toxic waste. That waste is a soup of toxic fluorides, hydrocarbons and other noxious byproducts which lead to acid rain, smog and dead soils.
By exploiting the earth for single use resources, we poison ourselves and the planet one can at a time.
It should be non-negotiable that every material we take from the Earth is responsibly returned.
Or otherwise equal to: a massive problem.
RECYCLING IS A GIFT WE GIVE THE EARTH THAT COMES BACK TO US AS CLEAN AIR AND WATER
Moab Solutions aims to educate the community about best practices recycling so we can eradicate waste and pollution.
Recycling preserves natural areas, lowers air and water pollution, and creates green jobs. In return, we receive a healthy environment which sustains us all.
